Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a computer teacher at my school and I would like to introduce my students to other forms of technology. For many of the students the time they spend in this computer lab is the only contact that they have using a computer or learning about other sources of technology media. In addition to having limited resources and an already stressed budget our school received many students from New Orleans. Due to this increase we now have even more students that have limited or very little knowledge of computers. My goals for this lab is to increase the level of knowledge for each student that comes to this computer lab. I would love to have a set of digital cameras to do a unit on digital photography and movie making. I would like for every student to learn how to use a digital camera, learn how to insert pictures into a power point presentation, and then learn how to use Microsoft movie maker to do a family photo album. After the completion of the student projects, they will be show cased at our annual technology fair. Student projects will be also be displayed on our school website. My hope is for every student to gain a richer since of the many uses of technology in their lives.
