Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Students come to me with a variety of backgrounds and experiences, but all are deserving of a high quality education that will prepare them for a successful future.

Many of my students come from low income families, many of which are single parent households.

About 60% of the students are on free or reduced lunches. English language learners struggle to learn basic vocabulary words that will enable them to function in school and in society.

These precious families want the best education for their children-something that they cannot provide for them on their own. They are looking to us, the teachers, the school and the community, to provide their children with the foundation of learning that will enable them to succeed in school and in life!

My Project

Students use chromebooks on a daily basis for reading, math and coding, so a class set is essentail for an optimal learning environment. Headphones are on the supply list, but most students are unable to purchase them, or they bring those that do not fit their tiny ears. Students need access to more computer mice to increase learning opportunities.

I strive to make the most of every moment of instructional time I have with students.

Additional computer mice will allow more students to work at a time allowing for optimal use of their time. Comfortable working headphones will increase the degree of focus neccessary for the rention of important content.
