Computer For Learning
My students need a desktop computer.
We are living in a very tech-savvy world, and my students don't have the technology to keep up! My second grade classroom consists of 24 students, and many are are special learners or ESOL students. A classroom computer would greatly help us with computer centers.
I teach in the largest school district in the state of Kansas.
My school has a good size population of ESOL students. I also have many students with special needs in my classroom. I teach second graders for all of their core subject areas. My students learn best when I am able to teach to a variety of learning styles and integrate technology. A desktop computer would allow me to get my students the supplies they need for learning centers in math and reading.
With one more classroom computer, my students would be able to get access to the many online and CD-ROM computer games available. These games give them individualized practice with specific skills that they need help with. Our classroom participates in "centers", which are various reading and math activities. I would be so grateful if our classroom could acquire another computer so that each child in the group could have their own access to our computer games.
These students would love a desktop computer to help them become more knowledgeable about technology and to help them grow in their reading and math skills.
Help our little learners get up-to-date with a classroom computer!
