Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our district educates approximately two hundred and fifty, residential and day students in kindergarten through grade twelve who have emotional, behavioral and learning problems. Most students reside here and live in cottages with an array of different staff members supporting them.
The computer lab is open to students in grades kindergarten through twelve.
Our classroom is designed to attract all ages and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere of happiness to it when you enter. We try to keep a peaceful environment. Lessons are tailored to each student's ability and most often, one-on-one instruction is necessary.
My Project
Each one of my computer class students was given the opportunity to save, insert word art, and put together a one-page coloring sheet of their school appropriate choice. Some classes had to relate it to technology while others had to go above and beyond and draw shapes using the Publisher tools taught in class.
My students learn how to use Publisher but many of our projects are not published nor printed so showing them the final project is tricky!
I want my students to see and feel their finished product! I want them to feel important and excited to have and hold their very own coloring book.
This project will show students how their work can be put together and printed into a book. We use Publisher in the classroom to not only learn how to make these marketing pieces but to actually see and feel a finished masterpiece! I want to show my students our finished masterpiece and with your help, I can and will!
One student was motivated to create his very own coloring book after seeing another finished published book I had on my desk. This will bring more ideas and excitement to my classroom. I can't wait to give them this coloring book. This book will help them relax or take a break from a lesson if needed.
