This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a K-8th special education Title 1 public school in NYC. My students are the next generation of gifted, talented, and diverse learners with disabilities (intellectually impaired, behaviorally challenged, and Autistic).
I am seeking support from our education community to help me be the wind beneath my students' wings so they may reach their full potential as 21st Century computational thinkers and problem solvers.
They just began their computational coding journey. I am seeking support to help them continue their journey. I Support equity and access for all students.
I see the spark in their eyes as they tinker, collaborate, and work together.
My Project
As a K-8th special education self-contained technology and computer science class, my CS assessments are diverse and multi-modality. Therefore headphones with recording feature will give my students an array of ways to capture their learning progression in CS.
The Kano - Pixel Kit offers my students' the opportunities to express themselves in creative ways through computer science and create computational artifacts.
Every day I enter my class with wonder and excitement as my students and I continue our learning journey in computer science. I see the spark in their eyes when they work together to figure out a coding problem or when they express their creativity through their computational artifacts. Help support access and equity in CS for all students.
