Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a Title 1 school serving students who live in poverty. The majority of students are also English language learners. Every staff member in my school works hard to ensure every student who walks through our doors is getting the BEST education.
The children we serve come to school every day ready to be challenged and stretched to their highest potentials.
"Growing all kids!" is what drives us as teachers. No matter what struggles our students may face in their home lives, our school is always a safe and nurturing second home.
My Project
Writing is a difficult skill to master. We work every day on strengthening our voices and sharing ideas through creative, informative, and opinion writing. My students put a great deal of effort into brainstorming and drafting their pieces. They spend time revising and editing with their peers and me. When my students have put the finishing touches on their writing, they are ready to publish and share their work with each other. The Chromebooks you help purchase will provide my students with the technology needed to publish their work digitally.
Publishing a piece of writing is a proud moment for every young author!
In today's tech age, students are too often content consumers. With your donation, you will help my students become content creators! The Chromebooks will allow students to create a digital portfolio of their writing across multiple genres. Students will have their best work published in our classroom writing anthology!
