Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a class of 24 kindergartens. My students are from a Tittle 1 school, that means my students receive free lunch and most students are from low income backgrounds.
My students always have a smile on their face and they are eager learners.
My students are brilliant Math and Science learners! They love to create and build things.
My kindergarten students are learning to speak, read and write in Spanish and in English. They love Science and Math. They are sweet and kind.
These hard working students love to learn and play with their friends. They love to do activities that involve manipulatives.
My Project
Students will be using the materials to learn how shapes create other shapes. In addition, students will be able to describe objects using the names of the shapes, using position words above, bellow, beside, in front of, behind, next to etc.
During math centers students will use their imagination and materials to create other shapes and build bridges, towers and buildings.
Students will create objects by connecting the shapes.
In addition, students will work in pairs or in groups to talk about the similarities and differences of the shapes as they are being built.
During recess these items will be shared with other kinder students. This project will reach at least 48 students or more.
