Help me give my students butterfly and praying mantis kits to see first hand how complete and incomplete metamorphosis works. We are also requesting a butterfly house to start our own butterfly garden.

My Students

My students come to me on a daily basis with smiles on their face and enthusiasm in their voices. They make it easy to love my job! Our school is Title I, and we have an awesome support system of parents, teachers, and administrators. We all have one goal in mind; we want our students to succeed.

Helping my students understand the world around them with hands on experience is one of my favorite ways to teach.

My students' success is my goal, and your support helps me reach it every year!

My Project

The materials I am requesting will help my students to see first hand how complete and incomplete metamorphosis happens in the wild. The butterfly kits will allow my students to watch the insects go through a complete transformation and better understand each step. The praying mantis kits will allow them to see an incomplete transformation.

Being able to see both types of metamorphosis happen first hand will allow the concepts that I teach in my room to become more concrete.

Upon completion of our butterfly life cycle we will then move the butterflies to a bigger home with the butterfly garden we are requesting. We have a wonderful garden started here at school, but are looking forward to adding this garden for it's beauty and learning capabilities.
