My students represent an amazing wealth of cultures, languages, and history. Their families are amazingly supportive and are very involved in their child's education. My classroom is comprised of mostly second language learners.
My students work so hard and are super excited to learn.
We are a Title I school in a community where parents opt to come to our school because they want the best for their children.
Our school is like a home away from home, as it is a K-12 charter school and you can often see siblings and family members all around, which gives everyone a sense of an extended family. I love it!
My Project
Our school uses Lexia Core 5 for a supplemental phonics and phonemic awareness support. Each child is supposed to do 60 minutes a week, 10-15 minutes a day to meet their goals. This is a project to reward those that are doing their time weekly. I will also reward them with a treat for moving up a level as well. These little treats are everything to my kindergarten class and I am excited to show them what they will earn. I am also eager for them to set these goals and work towards them.
