Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in a very small rural farming town that is surrounded by many farming fields. We come from a small school that only has two classes for each grade level. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Parents work hard in local fields, farms, and packing houses. The parents do what they can at home, but for many of our students school is a great way to have a stable schedule and support system.
Many parents do not have high school level education, or even speak English, so our students need a lot of support from our school.
It is important that we give every student the chance to succeed.
My Project
I am looking to get the remaining headphones to complete a class set. With a recent donation, my class will be receiving 20 headphones, but it is my hope that we can get the remaining 10 headphones to complete the class set. In this project there are also small mesh bags to hold individual earbud headphones. These bags will increase the students ability to keep a clean desk, as well as decrease the likelihood that the earbuds will break.
I am hoping to get these remaining headphones donated so that all students will have access to a nice pair of comfortable headphones for all of the computer work that they do on a daily basis.
