My Students

Everyday my students are actively engaged in learning through a multitude of approaches. Although with the rigor of the Common core standards this is not enough. My goal is to reach my students and help them all the be proficient at the end of the year.

Our school has a very supportive community.

Our parents are actively involved and are continually seeking ways to help their children learn more. My students are a unique group with diverse abilities. One thing they all have in common is they love learning with the use of technology!

My Project

Students will use the Compass Learning software to further their learning path with Common Core. We currently use the NWEA assessments and Compass learning will take those results and create a learning path to fill in the gaps and extend their understanding. I will organize literacy and math stations to ensure students are successful. In addition, students will have access to Compass learning from home, so their parents can be involved in their learning too. Finally, I will develop assessments based on the Common Core Curriculum with the help of Compass Learning Assessment tools.

Compass Learning will change the learning that takes place in my classroom in a number of ways.

First, the teacher dashboard will give me important information on each individual child. I will be able to differentiate instruction based on this information and cater my instruction the the child's weaknesses. Another benefit is, I will also be able to take "gifted"students further based on their strengths(which is often times overlooked). Finally, Compass learning is a fun approach to learning
