My Students

My students are a group of hard working, high achieving kids who need more of a challenge than the regular classroom can provide. They are humble, kind, generous, and community-minded.

Our small town of 1700 people is working hard to revitalize the community, and I would love for my students to play a part in this effort through a literacy based project.

Their creative minds and dedicated work ethics have inspired them to share their favorite novel that we read this year.

My Project

My 4th grade enrichment group has been reading Bluestem nominated books all year long. They would love the opportunity to share their favorite book with our community.

These books will be shared with the entire community.

Our goal is to make copies of the book available around town and in our schools, and plan a culminating activity to bring everyone together. We want to include all students from grades K-12, as well as public officials, parents, grandparents, and school administrators.

This student-led project will engage everyone in reading the same story, and invite all readers to participate in a community wide event when the book is finished.
