My Students
My students come from a diverse urban community with strong parental support for a high quality education. My students are typical 5/6 year-olds with inquiring minds and growing brains. My students are very eager to learn about the world around them. They want to know how and why the world works the way it does.
My students are tomorrow's leaders and I want them to have every opportunity to learn and grow into global thinkers that can change the world.
My students are already so aware of all that is around them so I want to be able to provide them with everything I can so that they can start their educational journey in a positive and motivating leap.
My Project
I am asking for a rug for my classroom that has the alphabet and pictures on it. This rug will be in our community gathering space.
In this area we come together for morning meeting, we share books and ideas, and have discussions in this area.
This rug will be our main area for whole group instruction.
This large rug will give my students a comfortable and open area to do puzzles, play with blocks, and read books with each other. When my students look through and read books together this helps them to experience print concepts and see photographs or illustrations of different places and things.
