My class is a Pre-K ASD classroom. I am a first year teacher and am starting out with nothing! ASD students truly benefit from sensory objects and different type of learning tools than general education students. I want to transform my classroom into a room that makes these students feel safe and ready to learn. I have big plans for these kiddos and can not wait to get started! Please help me help my kiddos learn and get ready for Kindergarten!
Please help give my students dramatic play dress up clothes. I teach an ASD Pre-K class so some of my children are autistic while the others are developmentally delayed. I am focusing my small group social skills lessons on community helpers so that my kiddos are able to identify these helpers for safety out in the real world. I think that since some of my kiddos are non-verbal it is extremely important for my kids to know who to reach out to if they are ever in danger. I plan on having volunteer community helpers come to our room too! I also plan on basing my science and math lessons around the community helpers such as counting "police tickets" or talking about how firemen put out fires.
Help my kiddos play, explore and learn about community helpers!
