This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an economically disadvantaged school in Florida. We have students that would really benefit from alternate avenues of learning and we strongly support the arts. I teach art to pre-k all the way through to 6th grade.
We began this project last year as a senior art project and we do not have enough money to order more supplies. The nice thing about this project is that we paint on ceiling tiles around the school and won't run out for quite a while. these tiles become a permanent fixture in the school and it is nice to come back to visit and see your art.
The students need paint!!! The sooner we get paint the sooner we can continue to beautify the school and learn more about painting techniques. It really is a great project that involves everyone.
You will make it possible for our project to move forward and blossom. Other schools in the district are already copying our idea and we really want the opportunity to continue on this year.
