Community Carpet For Capable Learners
Help me give my students a place to learn and reflect together within the classroom. A place where everyone is included and everyone has a place.
My first graders are brilliant, open minded and curious explorers. They seek information and ask tough questions. They are all in for their education and they think big. The only thing bigger than their curiosity is their dreams. They have huge plans for their lives and huge plans for the world around them. I believe that these kids are going to be our future presidents, senators, astronauts, scientists, or anything that they want to be.
These students think big, dive deep, and develop their own understanding to make sense of the changing world that we live in.
They don't know it yet, but they will be world changers.
My classroom is in desperate need of a new rug for students to learn and build relationships on. Without this carpet we do not have a community space for the kids to sit on their spots and learn. This is a vital part of a successful, healthy first grade classroom.
This rug withe enough spaces for all of my students, will give students a space to learn, process, and reflect on their learning within the classroom.
Morning meetings, small group, whole group, recess, presentations, read alouds, etc. All of these things need a place in our classroom to be held and without a rug, the community bond is absent.
