Help me give my students the cheer mats they need to practice safely and successfully!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My middle school cheerleaders are a group of 26 student athletes from a diverse low-income community that are working so incredibly hard to be the best they can be. They started the year having zero cheer experience and are now performing a full routine! These girls and boys give 110% every practice and it shows when they perform at games.
The team feels like a family and the student athletes support one another indiscriminately to make positive choices and be role models in their school community.
This team leads their school during the day academically and behaviorally and are held to the highest expectations. Their energy and joyfulness during games and pep rallies encourage their peers to follow their example. The positive attitudes they have make a warm and happy community in our middle school.
My incredible 25 cheerleaders need cheer mats to practice and perform! Performing cheer stunts without proper mats is dangerous and unsafe. This group of girls and boys deserve a safe space to practice their tumbling, lifts, baskets, and jumps!
These student athletes have proved they have the ability and the determination to go far as a cheer team, and without cheer mats, they cannot progress.
This team has become a huge motivator for the student athletes to perform better academically and behaviorally at school. This addition of equipment for our team will contribute to the improving culture in our school and community!
