Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We teach in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom of 23 students at a Title I school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our students love to learn through hands-on activities and authentic discussions.
Our school is truly a barrier free school, serving all students who come through our doors.
Helping students achieve their dreams is our goal, providing them with the tools that will get them there! Our students are in need of essential resources and materials that will benefit them during instruction.
My Project
A mailbox will make life super easy! This is such an important area of our room that helps each student organize their papers that need to go home, and keeps items from being lost, torn, or mixed up. The wooden mailbox station I have chosen will be sturdy and hold up to daily use.
We use iPads for many fun and engaging learning activities, and it is hard to manage when iPads are almost out of battery life because of poor charging organization.
The docking station I have chosen neatly stores and charges the iPads. This would make it extremely easy for students to manage by themselves. I have also added several additional charging cables that are short and won't get tangled when not in use.
Organization is one of the key components of classroom success. Laminating pouches will help us get our charts and posters in order!
