My Students
As a special needs teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom in addition to their disabilities. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students' disabilities range from a moderate to severe range.
Some have multiple disabilities with a dual sensory loss or Deaf blindness that limits their experiences. They need a multi-sensory learning environment to succeed.
My Project
As a self-contained Special Education teacher in a low income school, my students are faced with many challenges. With the addition of these iPads and cases into my classroom, my students will be able to actively communicate their wants and needs through technology.
Our students disabilities range from moderate to severe.
The majority of my students are non-verbal and having access to an iPad would be detrimental to their learning. Using iPads will enhance their communication skills and be active members of our school community.
As their teacher, it is my job to provide them with experiences to enhance not only their academics, but also their social and emotional skills.
