My Students

My students are all children with communication disorders (such as expressive language, receptive language, hearing loss, articulation, stuttering) looking for new and fun ways to help facilitate their communication abilities!

My students are motivated to be successful communicators and always try their hardest despite any disorders!

Our school is located in an area below the poverty level. A lot of our students are from other countries and/or refugee camps. Accessing services outside of school is nearly impossible for our students and their families.

My Project

A colorful laser jet printer will allow us with the opportunity to print in color and provide students with the ability to communicate their basic needs with colorful pictures/symbols.

For students who are non-verbal due to severe communication disabilities, communicating their wants, basic needs, and knowledge is challenging.

With a color printer, we will be able to print symbols that represent the vocabulary WE all use verbally throughout our days such as; "hungry", "thirsty", "help", "more", "yes", "no", "stop", and so much more. With this printer, we could create basic communication boards, interactive vocabulary books, picture exchange communication systems, and so much more. Thank you for your time and consideration!!
