My students need an inviting and accessible classroom rug to join together and learn. In Kindergarten, kiddos of all kinds meet on the rug to have a common learning space and strengthen interpersonal relationships.

My Students

My Kindergarten students come into school everyday excited to learn in their town of Norton, Massachusetts.

My 24 Kindergarten students are ready to blast off into their social, emotional, and academic development!

The L.G. Nourse Elementary School is a true Early Childhood environment, serving grades Pre-K to Grade 3. Our Level 2 school serves many little ones who live in low incoming housing.

In the oncoming years, our student population may grow dramatically upon the completion of a large housing complex. Our Kindergarten program is comprised of 3 Full Day classrooms and 1 Half Day classroom. These children are eager to learn from their peers and dedicated staff everyday!

My Project

In Kindergarten, little learners are motivated to learn based on their environment. I strive to create a classroom that is accessible to every child's needs. A classroom rug is where we start and end our day. Morning meeting, read alouds, directions, singing, dancing, and numerous essential moments take place in this spot.

This classroom rug is where we can all bond together.

Despite any special need or learning style, all students can come together and be part of the classroom community. Being able to provide my current and future students with this safe and open space will be a truly wonderful gift!
