My students need 10 spiral notebooks and a variety of the most updated books from the common core list being released. We are also wish to bring technology to the class and acquire a tablet for lit circles!
Being a Language Arts teacher I continue to strive to find ways to keep my kids engaged and motivated in reading and writing. With getting the newest books into our library and finding ways to incorporate the tablet the kids will hopefully begin to find the love of learning I have.
My students tend to always be technology junkies.
I often have students who constantly struggle, but with every ounce of their being they want nothing more than to be successful. I also work with Advanced Gifted students who at times challenge my thinking with their brilliance. Whichever end of the spectrum my students fall they all share one thing in common - they have the biggest hearts. We are at a public school with a low SES status.
My Project
I plan on using these resources to dig into modern trends and interest of students to help them find and discover a strong love for learning. I want to do my best to always keep them with the most up to date books to challenge their thinking and strengthen them as learners. The books I am requesting will be used to help support our newest common core standards while giving these students complexity of text they need. The tablet will be used for literature circles allowing to learn from novels in a deeper setting using smaller groups.
Working with my students has shown me a whole new light on life.
All my money I have I find myself pouring into their learning opportunities. If nothing else I want my kids to walk out of my room being better people, I know that with the right resources in my classroom I will be able to reach my kids and give them a sense of success and urge to want more when it comes to learning.
