Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of a very multiculturally mixed neighborhood. My students come from many different backgrounds, with families coming from all around the world. I love the diversity of my students and the acceptance that they show to each other. At my school we work together as a team, along with our parents to be sure that our children are succeeding and making educational strides. We teach our students to be responsible, respectful, and ready!
My students love coming to school and helping their brains grow bigger.
They like to move and they love to read. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom they become my children and I aspire to helping each child reach their highest potential.
My Project
I am requesting a guided reading table that helps me get close enough to each of my little readers so that I can hear their shy tiny voices and help them to become wonderful, confident readers.
In the beginning of the year, my kindergarten students are very quiet and shy when reading.
This makes it hard for me to get close enough to hear their precious voices reading the pictures and words in a book. This horseshoe table will help give the students a focus point when I am instructing my guided reading group and also allow me to get close to hear each reader implement the reading strategies they have been taught, and help to catch any errors to help further guide their reading.
