Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a bilingual classroom! In addition to basic supplies, some of the materials will allow me to create beautiful anchor charts, learning centers, and allow me to perform to the best of my ability. As a first year teacher, I envision a classroom with countless resources for students, and although this classroom might not have every single material, book or resource available, I know that my passion for teaching will flourish in this learning environment.
My teaching philosophy incorporates cultural pedagogy along with ensuring students have resources to support and further their learning!
As a first year teacher, it can be hard to fund a full classroom with limited budgets. But that does not limit my vision for a beautiful nurturing classroom for my future students!
It is very difficult to ask families for materials that they might not be able to afford, considering the economic status and the number of students who receive free or reduced price lunch. This is why I plan to fully support my students in every possible way that I can.
My Project
All the materials provided and bought will go directly to my students. All students and myself will have access to the materials. Many of the materials will be utilized for learning centers, groups, grading, anchor charts, classroom decoration, etc. The white boards can be used in any given subject, and are a great tool for visual learners and for students to show their work. The anchor paper and easel will allow me to fully support student in their every day learning! Spanish books will provide students for more books in their native language!
