My Students

My students are from a very small, rural farming community. We are a Title 1, K-8 school with just a little under 500 students. Our school is over 100 years old and is an important landmark in our community. My grandmother, mother, myself, and my siblings all went to school here, so I am very partial and proud to be teaching at Sulphur Springs School and want our students to have every opportunity to flourish as learners! Please spread the word!

My Project

I feel that having a nice comfy, colorful place to gather would help with student learning in that it will be a more comfortable place to sit therefore making learning and ability to stay focused more exciting!

Wouldn't you rather have a comfy place for your sitter rather than sitting on a cold, hard floor?

The colorful scheme on this area rug will be more pleasing to the senses for sure and students will not be so apprehensive to gather together in the floor which is where we hold all of our class meetings, mini lessons, read aloud, and group learning.
