All of my students are ELL. They come from low-income families that are working 2 to 3 jobs in order to meet their needs. They are very hard-working kids that enjoy learning and strive for greatness. Most of them wish they could take the learning experience beyond their classroom walls and their communities. They don’t have the means to get the extracurricular activities they need in order to expand their knowledge but they take advantage of every little experiences that they can get. 3 of my students are dyslexic and the other three are being tested for learning disabilities and all the students get together in order to help the others meet their goals. I am very proud of every single one of my students.
Flexible seating allows students to find comfortable positions while they are listening to read aloud and other learning activities. When they are comfortable, they are calmed, focused and productive. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together and traditional seating prevents students to sit closer to one another. Flexible seating also allows students to choose where they want to work and it also allows them to move around when they have to change partners or change groups. With this flexible seating furniture, I will be able to start implementing a better quality environment in order to help my students achieve their goals in a fun and comfortable way.
