My amazing and talented Prekindergarten kids have already experienced a vast majority of life obstacles before stepping into my classroom. The majority of my students come from low-income homes. Some of them don't even have a place to call home. Despite the hardships these 3 and 4 year old students deal with on a daily basis they always walk into the classroom with smiles on their faces and eager to learn.
My students truly deserve the world.
They inspire me to be the best I can be each and every day!
My students love to explore and create. Hands-on experiences and creativity are so important at this age.
There is nothing better than kicking back to read a good book. My students love to look at books and tell stories using the pictures. Our floor in our classroom is concrete with a thin layer of carpet over it. It’s definitly not a place I enjoy sitting. A couch would make their reading experience much more enjoyable! In my classroom I use alternative seating, I feel as though the children learn better when they are comfortable. The couch would also be used as a place where students can sit and talk to develop their social emotional skills as well as a place for them to complete their work.
