I am so lucky to spend my days with the best kids on the planet; however, I want to give them more! My classroom is in a different layout than those in my building, meaning that all of my classroom storage is on bookshelves in the back of my room.
I want to give my students a learning space that is more organized and comfortable with a large rug, floor cushions, clipboards, bookends, and book stands, but I cannot do that alone.
Language learning studies show that anxiety plays a huge part in how quickly a student acquires language. If students feel uncomfortable or worried, this can hinder their progress. My hope is to alleviate this language anxiety but creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxing environment for students.
We read a lot in class, as reading supports language acquisition, and I would love to give my students the gift of a relaxation when they come to Spanish class. I also know my Spanish Honor Society students would love to utilize a nice space during our meetings and work sessions. Please help me give my students a learning environment that inspires reading and language acquisition through comfort.
