Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The children in my classroom are a diverse mix of students that need extra support. I am an intervention teacher and meet with struggling students to focus on building reading, math and writing skills. I work with students from across our building which spans Kindergarten through 8th grade.
My students often have a multitude of needs and it is my job to meet them right where they are and provide the support to make them feel successful in school.
I have a passion for helping these kids in anyway I can and providing with the tools they need to be learners.
My Project
My classroom can be a very business like environment. Students engage in hard work and struggle daily. I want them to have a place they can read or work comfortably on the occasions they get the opportunity for independent reading.
We are requesting a lounger, a couch and a double decko cushion.
By creating inviting spaces filled with comfortable furniture, students will be able to curl up with a good book and enjoy the wonder of reading. It's something I really want for my students since they so often feel the struggle and frustration when reading. I want them to know the magic of reading a good text and get lost in a book.
