This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I want my students to enjoy reading comfortably on a new library sofa!
I am a first grade teacher in a low economic area.
Although we may not have much financially, we are rich in academics! We work hard everyday to meet all grade level standards, as well as our personal goals. I teach 21 sweet and motivated first graders that love school and love to learn!
My Project
I am requesting a new classroom library sofa to help motivate students to visit our library. I am also requesting a Yacker Tracker to help control noise during independent work time. The sofa will provide comfortable seating to help encourage children to curl up to a good book, and the Yaker Tracker will help control classroom "yaking" so children can concentrate during assignments.
I feel providing a comfortable place for reading is important to help encourage students to read.
Reading should be enjoyable, and a new sofa will be inviting! The Yaker Tracker will help students have a nice quite environment to help them focus on assignments during work time. Students will learn to use this tracker to monitor their own noise levels.
