Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very smart, active and curious about the things around them. Our school is Title I, most of the students with Hispanic background and the great majority receive free or reduced lunch.
My goal is to provide the students a classroom where learning is fun and they can, for a little while, forget about the difficulties that they face, at home or in their communities, in a daily basis.
A classroom that is successful creates not only a great environment, it inspires the students to achieve more and to desire to be successful, as well.
By donating, you will help me and my students achieve the goals of education. You will help the students to take control of their own learning, become better and more confident learners, and to, hopefully, be inspired to continue on the path of successful citizens that, in the end, will benefit our great nation as a whole.
My Project
In the classroom students have the opportunity during reading time to grab a book and go sit in the spot of their choice to enjoy their book. At the moment those options are limited to student desk or the floor. By having these chairs, students will be able to read and enjoy their reading in a comfortable environment. The same goes for mathematics when students work on tablets to complete the math program. While on the tablet they do attempt to sit on the floor and work but they find themselves uncomfortable and unable to focus. The chairs will make both reading and math time more enjoyable for the kids as they will now be comfortable and able to focus more on their learning on not on trying to find a good spot.
