My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.

I teach Kindergarten in an inner city school.

This is my 33rd year here with the last 25 years in Kindergarten. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school. They feel safe and loved here.

My Project

Kindergarten students are very active. We are constantly on the move. I try to provide many opportunities for my students to move and change seating throughout the day. We sit in our chairs and on our stools but we also spend time sitting on the hard floor.

How great would it be to have comfy chairs to sit in when we have moved to the floor?

We love to leave our chairs and go to the carpet to enjoy independent reading and activities using our clipboards. Having new comfy chairs with a cushioned back and bottom would make for a happy class of kindergarteners.
