My students need flexible seating such as balanced balls, wobble balls, and seat cushions. Flexible seating options will assist my students in staying focused and engaged.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 22 kindergartners in my classroom. The majority of my classroom are Hispanic and are low socioeconomic. Ninety nine percent of our school are minority and low socioeconomic as well. The school that I work at is one of the oldest schools in our community. Everyday, my students come to class ready and eager to learn. Most of my students are Spanish speakers but they are enthusiastic learning a new language. At the end of the day, my students leave the class learning something new and it makes me feel like I accomplished my job.
My Project
In a Kindergarten class filled with 22 5 year olds, flexible seating will allow my kindergartners to bounce, wobble, and to rock which will increase oxygen flow to the brain. Flexible seating allows students to quickly and easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class – without moving mountains of heavy desks to establish eye contact.
Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive.
The idea is to create a more comfortable environment that helps students be their best learning selves.
