I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten after several years teaching 5th grade! Huge move, right? Well, I previously taught preschool and 1st grade. I enjoyed 5th graders but I realized I'm passionate about building the foundation for lifelong learners. I can not wait to meet my new students and families. I am currently making over a classroom that needs a lot of love.
I worked in my son's kindergarten classroom last year and I often saw students rocking on chair legs and fidgeting.
I would like to offer a safer and superior choice, not to mention an environment where my students can have space to discover and learn.
My Project
Kindergarteners are so excited to learn! Students learn in various ways and have different needs. I want my students to walk into their classroom and feel comfortable and confident.
I have seen students use these comfy floor seats first hand.
Students looked focused, comfortable and motivated. During centers students will independently read or look at books in a comfy manner. These seats will help create excitement for reading and be an incentive for all kindergarten learners.
Building a strong love of learning in kindergarten is essential. Comfy floor seats would be one aspect to help my students attain this goal.
