My Students
In my classroom students are constantly given options and choice in what they do. We are a loving classroom community that cares about each other genuinely. My second-grade students know that the environment they are working in is safe and that it is alright to make mistakes and ask questions.
When my students walk in the door they are happy, energetic and full of positive energy.
My classroom is filled with laughter, trust, sensitivity and positive reinforcement. My school is a large school that is around 50% free or reduced-price lunch. We have mostly students with Caucasian, Native American and Hispanic backgrounds.
My Project
I am in need of comfortable lightweight cushions for my students to sit on during intervention times. Currently, in my second-grade classroom small groups of students independently read and work on iPads for 20-minute chunks on the back carpet. Having these cushions in the classroom will allow me to assign where students need to sit on the rug, while also giving my students a relaxing alternative to sitting on the hard floor.
The Flex Space Cushions will also be used on student chairs to allow movement for children when they are required to sit for periods of time.
