Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a ELA teacher of 60 third graders. I teacher two classes of thirty students. One of my classes has thirty students, and is a English Second Language class. My other ELA class, is a mixture of of all leveled learners. My classes are filled with students who are eager to learn comprehension strategies to help increase understanding of text. My overall goal is to create a classroom that supports the love of reading in school and in the real world.
My Project
The flex-space wobble cushions will be used to help my wiggly third graders sit comfortably while reading. We will use the High Interest Intervention Reading Folders to “grab” my students’ attention and keep them reading about fiction and non fiction topics. Students will use the passages to practice the many reading strategies that are essential to all readers. The folders provide many probing questions that will enable me to assess my students’ understanding of the reading skills being taught. I will be able to use the Self-Inking Teacher Stamps to let students and parents know the progress the students are making on their assignments quickly and neatly. Finally, students will be able to use the Speak and Listen Recording Microphone to record their reading in order to practice reading fluency. Students will be able to hear their reading and strive to improve each day.
