My classroom is a busy and active place with many opportunities for students to engage in hands-on learning activities and practice social skills.
I teach kindergarten in a Title I school with a high number of students that are low income plus receive free and reduced-price meals.
It is an honor to work in the oldest school in my city for the past 17 years with such a diverse group of students. Our school has an unique environment where staff and students alike all feel like family.
My Project
I started flexible seating two years ago and it's time to replace and expand! My classroom is warm and inviting with many options for flexible seating such as tables close to the floor with colorful cushions for seating and two tables that have wobble stools for my wiggly ones. In a cozy corner that my students use for working on I-pads there are some second hand patio cushions.
It's time to replace those old cushions with some brand new comfortable bright colored bean bag chairs!
Our classroom also has stools that my students use while working at the teacher table that are tattered and torn. I would like to replace them with shiny new colorful sturdy stools.
