My students need a relaxing place to study and read. These beautiful cushions and pillows will let them feel at ease. A study nook will change our classroom atmosphere from industrial to cozy.
My students come to school every day ready to learn despite their many challenges at home. I strive to incorporate hands-on activities in our math and science lessons to make learning exciting and meaningful! My biggest challenge is funding, so we need help!
My school is classified as a high priority Title I school that serves 100% free breakfast/lunch.
My students experience many hardships at home, which directly impacts their learning, and many do not understand the potential that the world has to offer. The education world is moving toward a focus on personalized learning, flexible seating, a positive behavior management plan and art/music integration into content areas. My students have begun to grow a deeper appreciation for learning, are engaged, and making massive learning gains because of the wonderful changes that are occurring! I believe that deeper understanding occurs through kinesthetic, creative, and higher order thinking activities, lessons, and collaborative projects.
My Project
These items will help me create an inviting atmosphere in my classroom. Tables and chairs definitely have their place but students deserve a welcoming, comfortable environment. Math class involves practice, practice, practice. I hope that my students can feel comfortable and confident while working.
Switch on the lights and grab a pillow!
Independent and collaborative work can be accomplished while sitting comfortably. My students spend many hours every week in my classroom, and I hope to get away from the traditional look of a classroom. String lights will help offset the harsh fluorescent lighting. I can't wait to see my students cozy up with their work!
