My Students

My third graders greet me each morning with huge hugs and smiling faces! I can't imagine doing anything other than teaching these precious ones!

We are a low income, high poverty school, but, despite the economic challenges, my students come in each day with an eagerness to learn and to reach new goals!

I teach 40 children in two separate blocks of language arts and social studies. The safe and friendly environment of our classroom makes us all feel like family. We love to be engaged in learning!

My Project

A new carpet for our classroom would mean so much to us! We gather each day for read alouds, mini lessons, station activities, games and more. Our current carpet is several years old and is not large enough for all 20 student to have a comfortable place to it.

My students need a carpet with enough room for all of them to have a comfortable place to sit and make learning feel like home!

I know how important it is for my children to move around the room and have a variety of places to sit and work throughout the day. My favorite time of day is when I have the students gathered around me as we read and learn together. Our current floor is tile, so it is very cold and uncomfortable. Having a new carpet would allow my students to cozy up with books and other resources.
