My Students

I teach 22 intelligent and active second-graders in a small, rural community. Because the school budget is limited, we cannot purchase supplies beyond our basic necessities.

Kindness, respect, and empathy are just some of the character traits being reinforced in our classroom.

These students love to read and write, discover, design and build, and be active. Throughout the day, students can be found having whole-group brainstorming sessions, independently reading and writing, and conducting engineering builds in small groups.

The classroom needs to be conducive to learning for all students, learning styles, and activities. Providing multiple areas to learn, discover, problem-solve, and work together is what encourages the students to develop skills to become lifelong learners and positive citizens.

My Project

With these cozy chairs and portable lap desks, my atudents can have a special work space—wherever they feel most inspired! The chairs have cushioned back supports that adjust to the perfect position…simply lift the backs of the seats to a comfortable height, then just lay them flat for convenient storage! Each seat has a removable, machine-washable microfiber cover. The handy wooden lap desks feature a flat surface at just the right height for kids. They’re super-durable for years of repeated use, yet light enough for children to move around the classroom.
