Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn no matter what background they come from. As a second grader, my students are slowly being exposed to becoming more mature students and taking responsibility for their actions, but more importantly, their learning.

My students have triumphed no matter what cards have been handed to them and my hopes are to continue to help them succeed.

My students want to learn. They want to be successful. And because they want to, they will.

My Project

My students love the freedom of their classroom environment where they can choose their own seating and really take responsibility for themselves and their learning. Flexible seating has taught my students responsibility and has shown an increase in my students engagement and creativity.

My students need a new, cozy place to relax when completing their classwork that also allows them to comfortably collaborate with their peers.

This project will also allow me to meet with my students in a more relaxed, comfortable setting where authentic, engaging collaboration and conversations can occur. Ultimately, my goal is to have a class that is 100% choice seating. I have seen the benefits it has had on my students and getting a new cozy seat will get me one step closer to that goal! Please consider helping my students and myself create a fun, welcoming environment for all to learn in!
