Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My kindergarten students love anything that is special in our room. Having an inviting reading area is one special part of my classroom. My students are developing a love for reading and the environment will only encourage this. I teach at a middle to low income school where many students don't have the luxury of owning books at home. Allowing them a comfortable and inviting environment to enjoy their books only encourages the love of reading further!

I have received new and exciting books from other proposals that I have submitted, now an inviting environment will increase their love as well. My students love having a special place to read. These bean bags and pillow will allow this special place for them. The Dr. Jean CD's will provide a fun learning experience for all students!

These pillows will provide a welcoming environment to enjoy a book. Many students do not have a welcoming or safe environment at home to curl up and relax and escape their daily lives and travel into the life of a character. The Dr. Jean CD's will provide a fun learning experience for all students, and will greatly benefit those students struggling with letter sounds, rhyming or fluency. All kids (and teachers) love to sing and dance around.

My students deserve the chance to escape their daily lives where nothing is certain. These resources will give them the chance to dance around and be a kid, something they might not get to experience.
