This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is a place where exploring and discovery occurs. I strive every day to make my classroom a place where my students feel welcomed, encouraged, and loved. This is where they spend most of their time and I want to make it a place where they can meet their needs by staying engaged.

Students should have the ability to choose where and how they work best.

My students are a group of diverse learners that are very active. Being able to bring comfort in the classroom is a priority for me!

My Project

We need a carpet in the classroom to feel comfortable while working on the floor. Many middle school students still enjoy working in spots around the room, including on the ground! All students should be able to feel comfortable in the classroom! My classroom is a place where students spend 90 minutes of their day reading and writing. Being able to move around the room and find spots to work in that best suits their needs is important for all of us!

We will be able to have a place where they can curl up with a good book, lay down when writing, or have a place to meet with each other. By having this carpet in our classroom, my students will be able to sit comfortably on the ground, and have a spot where they work best!
