My students need this carpet so that they have a comfortable spot to gather for our morning meeting and a space where they can work.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are embarking on a journey to become lifelong learners. They come from from diverse cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic classes. Each day the children arrive ready to learn and to share their ideas. My classroom provides a sanctuary for them--a place where they know they will be loved and their curiosity to learn will be cultivated.
My students' passion for learning is cultivated by our strong sense of classroom community.
My young students know that in order for the individual members of our community to be successful we all have to support the values of our classroom community.
Our classroom motto is that we work hard but we also play hard. One way that we strengthen our community bond is by starting every day with a morning meeting. Taking the time to sit in a circle, greet each other, share our hopes and dreams signals to my students that each one of us is a valuable member of our classroom community.
A new carpet will allow my students to have a clean, comfortable space to gather for our morning meeting. Additionally the carpet will be used throughout the day as students are encouraged to find spots in the classroom that will allow them to do their best learning. For many of my students sitting on a carpet and using a clipboard allows them to showcase their best work.
A new carpet will allow my students to have a clean and safe area to work.
The carpet that we currently have in the classroom is old and the corners curl, creating a hazard.
