My Students

I am a school counselor in a Title I School which serves a very low socioeconomic student population. The student body is comprised of a very diverse population with a wide variety of languages and cultures.

My students love to learn about each other and the differences and similarities they share!

Understanding and accepting each others' differences is one of the things that make my students special and unique! My school is one of the most positive influences in the students' lives and a safe and welcoming place for them to learn.

Many of my students have experienced some form of trauma in their lives and need a place they feel safe and secure.

My Project

I am a counselor in a very low income diverse setting in which many of my students have experienced multiple forms of trauma. These students spend a great deal of time processing and dealing with those traumas in the counselor's office.

This project will help students relax and feel comfortable enough to open up and share the traumas they have endured, share their feelings and emotions, as well as develop the skills necessary to cope with those emotions.

The love seat and table will pair with my existing chairs to create a comfy and safe place for the counseling process!
