My Students
My students walk into the library ready to explore the world! From filming a presidential campaign commercial for George Washington using the green screen to creating a medieval castle with working doors, my students are 21st-century learners as they make and create.
They embrace each new challenge and persevere to create something original even when we don't have all of the materials we need.
Our small, rural elementary school is home to students who are eager to learn and invent. Our school nurtures students to be independent, curious thinkers ready to make their mark in the world.
My Project
Flexible seating options allow students to work in a way that is comfortable for them. Currently our library has wobble stools and comfortable chairs. Many students love to choose one of these spaces while working. By adding these floor cushions, a new space is available for students to use. This new space might appeal to a student who previously hadn't found a spot that inspired him or her.
When students have the choice of where to work, higher quality collaboration and creativity occur.
These floor cushions will allow greater choice in where students want to work. This helps keep students focused and motivated. Also, because they are lightweight, the cushions can easily be moved to different areas of the library to collaborate in different groups.
