Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of working with 40 students who come from a variety of backgrounds and learning abilities. Many of my students are bilingual and some of them are just beginning to learn the English language. My students enjoy learning and using a variety of manipulatives to help them achieve mastery.
I am in a co-teaching model classroom, and with 40 students in a room space is limited.
We are looking for additional seating and working areas to meet the learning styles of our students. Additionally, we also have students who have special education needs and require multiple sensory areas to meet their individual needs.
This year I am combining two classes of students and am looking forward to making my classroom more interactive. Based on my students needs, many of them require flexible seating.
My Project
My students need flexible seating to help them learn and focus throughout the school day. Our students will use the materials to be able to learn and focus throughout the day while sitting on furniture that allows them to move and get out their energy. The furniture will be used during literacy circles, small group instruction, and free time. Your generous donation to our project will improve our 2nd classroom by building stronger readers and writers.
The donations will also allow our students, who have various special needs, the ability to learn in an environment that fits their needs.
When students can learn in an appropriate environment they will feel more successful and will develop a love of learning.
This will change our students' lives for the better, because they will love school and feel success regardless of their current level of academics. Students can learn and also continue to move - having fun while learning!
