Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are always thoughtful, engaging, and grateful. They encourage each other and advocate for themselves. We practice an attitude of gratitude every day. I love leaving them a happy note on their desks. They help each other and support each other. They have found the balance between independence and self-responsibility and caring for their partner classmates.
As a teacher at Columbine Elementary, I am impressed with the amount of respect and enthusiasm students have at school.
I have always held high standards for my students. Amazingly, they put in the efforts to step up and take responsibility for their learning.
I would really like to provide my students with some alternative seating for learning. It is important for students to have some choice in their learning environment. Sometimes students need a comfy place to get up, move around, and find a different seating alternative. I would love to be able to provide this for them.
My Project
Research shows that students that enjoy school engage more in learning. Students need opportunities to get up out of their seats and find alternative fun spots for engage in learning. I want to be able to provide a comfy learning space for my students.
I truly would love to provide my students with alternative learning spaces.
Right now, they have to sit on the floor if they don't want to sit at their seats. The days are long and students often need a change and movement to keep their bodies awake and engaged.
I believe in allowing students to get up, move around, and find ideal learning spaces in the classroom for themselves. I know that they would truly enjoy having a comfy spot to sit away by themselves or with friends to learn.
