Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my inner city middle school students qualify for free and reduced priced lunch and many have languages other than English as their primary language. Most of the students at my school love reading and want to be the first students in their families to graduate high school with reading and writing skills. Our 92-year-old building is so beautiful, but in need of some "sprucing up". I am teaching in the gorgeous library this year and I am asking for chair cushions to make our library inviting for students and the community!
My Project
Students love our 92 year old building but wish the chairs weren't so ancient! Our inner city building services 350 students, 97% qualify for Free and Reduced Priced Lunch. Chair cushions would help make an inviting space available for getting work done or reading a favorite book. When funded, this project will create a comfortable space for students to read, complete homework, and start building a bright future.
The library, although filled with wonderful books, has ancient wooden chairs that make it nearly impossible to be comfortable and get homework done, read, or start planning a bright future.
Please support this project and start making a difference in my inner city kids' lives.
