I teach at a small 4K through 8th-grade school in southeastern Wisconsin. There are approximately 180 students who attend our school. My students come from a mainly rural area.
My students are a diverse set of learners and are in need of engaging hands on activities!
I am currently teaching 24 second graders and am hoping to help meet the needs of all the learners in class despite their ability levels.
Second graders learn best through movement and active engagement, and I strive to incorporate this into our daily routine. They enjoy partner, small group, and whole-group opportunities to learn.
My students are taking off when it comes to reading, writing and math. They are loving guided math and the opportunity for hands-on learning. I am looking forward to helping them continue their learning journey throughout second grade.
My Project
My students work best collaboratively. During our whole group lessons, they would love a comfortable place to sit in front of the SmartBoard. I am a brand new teacher, just starting in November and would love to help complete and furnish the classroom. This rug would provide a comfortable place for the kids to sit, view the lesson, work in small groups, and read to selves during independent time. We know that kids learn best if their basic needs are met, and if they are comfortable they are more likely to remain focused and learn.
